Step 03 · Survey & installation

From final checks to a finished system.

Before installation, the property and design are checked in detail. From roof condition and fixing points to cable routes, electrical protection and final equipment positions, the aim is to remove surprises and deliver a neat, carefully commissioned system.

Step 03 · Survey & installation
What happens

Careful at every stage.

Detailed site survey

We confirm roof access, structure, shading, equipment positions, cable routes and the practical details that turn the initial proposal into a final installation plan.

Final system design

Panel layout, inverter configuration, battery location and electrical design are checked against the property and selected equipment.

Roof-first installation

Mounting and fixing decisions are made around the roof construction, weather exposure and the need for a secure, tidy finish.

Professional electrical work

Isolation, protection, metering and system connections are installed and tested in line with the applicable requirements for the final design.

Testing & commissioning

Before handover, the system is tested, commissioned and checked so solar, storage, monitoring and any EV charging work together correctly.

Quality review

Borders Solar reviews the completed job and installation quality, with customer feedback helping us continually assess our installation partners.

We select local installation partners carefully, looking for the relevant accreditations, strong workmanship, professional communication and a proven approach to looking after the customer’s home. Every completed installation is quality checked by Borders Solar and followed by a customer feedback survey.
The Borders Solar approach

A careful installation starts before anyone climbs on the roof.

The survey turns the proposal into a practical installation plan. We confirm the details that matter — access, roof condition, panel positions, fixings, cable routes, inverter and battery locations — so the installation team arrives with a clear plan rather than making important decisions on the day.
